New Hope Windward is one of the most active churches you’ll find! Beyond attending Sunday service, members are actively serving on over 35 different ministry teams, participating in community outreach projects, preparing for mission trips, taking part in small group gatherings and other assorted activities. With all that’s going on, you might wonder what takes priority? At NHW, it’s really quite simple because each activity ties into a powerful mission statement: To Reach Seekers and Build Believers!
According to NHW’s Pastor Dave Barr, you don’t have to ask our church members to think outside of the box. “There’s always something exciting going on at this church. We are continually looking for new ways to reach seekers and build believers. Whether we are expanding Sunday services, developing a new study program or instituting a new community project, it’s all about reaching out to those who seek God, as well as building up those currently in relationship with Him,” said Pastor Dave.
One thing’s for sure, the Pastors and staff can’t do it alone! They count on the helping hands of many active church members to get things done. It’s what we call “Doing Church As A Team.” The NHW mission fuels our church and drives our activities. After all, it’s more than a mission, it’s about The Great Commission – a special calling from Jesus Christ to all His followers to take specific action while on this earth.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:18-20)
