He will share how the names people called God in the passages we study (Old Testament) expressed the EXPERIENCE they had with God. We learn God’s character through study and our EXPERIENCE with him. Then Hanzo will talk about how God’s name of El Shaddai which means God Almighty…God is all powerful. He will share how God has all the power we need for our problems.

What is God really like? Is he like a cosmic cop in the sky ready to catch you and punish you for everything you do wrong? What kind of Father is God? Is he disappointed with you most of the time? Is he angry towards you? Is he too busy for you? Is he passive towards your problems? Unavailable? Is he punishing you? The way we view God greatly impacts how we respond to him.

The worst recession in our lifetime. We have more job responsibilities than ever, work more hours, have more drama in relationships. All of this adds up to stress, anxiety and a lack of peace. Gideon sure understood this as he was a nobody who God turned into a somebody. In the midst of an enormous problem, Gideon calls him the Lord of Peace.

Godly fathers provide for their kids and our Heavenly Father models this so well. He is Yahweh Yireh or Jehovah Jirah, the God who provides. God’s very nature and character is to provide. God will provide for our needs, not all our wants and greeds but our needs. How do we experience God’s provision for our needs? Relationship and obedience to Christ set us up for his greatest provision for our needs.
